Its too early to say anything. Right now its done the same as Pikachu did on its first day with similar show counts but that was 17 days out versus 20 days out for this. Also for movies that start their run so early, the first few days or a week are always very slow. So people shouldn't freak out if the first few days don't increase a whole lot. What we know right now is that interest is apparently high as mentioned by Gavin I think who said it could do huge numbers (but then again DP was expected to do so as well). But I think this should do better than DP. This has more actions and a far bigger scale. The 2014 movie also did fairly decent in China. However we also know that it will face big competition in its 2nd weekend as Dark Phoenix and a local movie is opening that weekend. It will lose a lot of screens so it will have to open big and do as much business as it can in its first week. But the 2nd weekend, where DP and the local movie opens, is a holiday weekend so hopefully it wont fall as hard as it would have on a normal weekend. 1 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
