I do not know why people think WOM can affect a film but reviews can not. This day and age is so easy to hear generally how the film is received. And if your friend tells that film is not good it will effect your weather he has seen the film or heard from a critic the friend trusts.

Wasn't he (and probably Chris Terrio too) only roped into this just so he could keep the relationship WB relationship strong and did this as a "favor" movie that's now becoming extinct in Hollywood?

 

By the Sea and Our Brand Is Crisis are rumored to have killed those kind of deals though.

He's making his next film (Live by Night) right now with WB. Opens October 20 next year.
