Mojo gets its numbers from distributor which is UPI for universal movies.

then how come it's inconsistent in the 1st place? through it's just minor difference

btw, FF8 almost certain to break $1b without US as per mojo or UPI

UPI website reporting is different because they update it as and when they get tallied numbers. I think when it comes to screendaily or BOM they will provide an estimate. I think RTH can answer this better.

On where its going to end, China is almost done. Japan also has slowed down post golden week. Not sure it has enough in gas to hit 1B OS. But you never know.

Around 50% drop in Europe too. Outside Japan, Brazil seems to be the biggest remaining market. Maintaining the same drops from here on out gives it around $990 million finish like you predicted.

China is done(just over 1m weekend). So next weekend drop wont be bad. Running in Japan and other leggy markets. Also week before last was golden week and that inflated weekdays in Japan. Next week it will drop around 45% as there are no major openers(Alien has opened in most markets and bombed).

It's actually 12th highest right now because Beauty and the Beast is ahead of it.

This fizzled out pretty quickly in UK. What gives?

It fizzled out soon in English speaking countries like UK, Australia, NZ soon compared to other countries! FF8 is one of those movies which makes its previous installments look like Masterpiece!

Thanks, China.

How many more of these movies are they going to churn out?

To be fair, it made a lot of money (inexplicably to my mind) in other parts of the world, too. ;)
