You realize that if they had that quick of a turnaround, they would only have time to make sequels, right?

Of course, and I'm certainly glad Zootopia was released as it is my second favourite movie of the year. All I'm saying is that, like many people say with many different franchises, that there is a key time to release a sequel before the hype sort of dies down, and I think Wreck-it-Ralph has passed that time. That isn't saying that the sequel won't be great or won't to big business, but I think the film could have had an easier time when the first was still more prominent in the public eye.

On the other hand you have movies like Finding Dory. I have a feeling that what WDAS and Pixar are doing is taking their time and trying to make a movie that appeals to the public, and that seems to be rewarding them. A month ago, a lot of people were doubting Dory making over 300 Million.

I agree that it's questionable to release Wreck-It Ralph 2 this late, but it's only because the original was not a humongous hit. I'm much more bullish on Frozen 2 in terms of money, and especially bullish for Zootopia 2, even if it takes until 2022.

I will say I don't see this increasing much from the original because I think there's a ceiling for this movie's audience. But there is a demand for it so it should do well enough.

Personally hoping for a 22 Jump Street scenario where I'm underwhelmed by the original but really enjoy the second

Maybe they'll do Frozen 2019? Id rather not see Gigantic pushed back an entire year

Gigantic has been confirmed by WDAS to have been moved to Thanksgiving 2018, where TBH a musical belongs. From what I understand, WiR 2 was originally set for that date and the two have been switched aroind. Frozen 2 was always targeted for 2019, probably Thanksgiving as well.

How is that possible? The movie has been officialised only today...Do you create official threads based on theories or rumors here now?

It was semi-official for a very long time.

Also, Rich Moore talked about wanting to do a sequel immediately after the first movie released.
