Looks like Michael Phelps affected Sunday night. 30M viewers for his race probably the reason why every movie in the top 10 bar Ice Age was overestimated

BOURNE, MOMS, TREK, 9LIVES, GB have a bigger error than SS.

We are unnecessarily hard on WB.

Sunday holds were way lower than expected for most movies. SS was actually the second best hold on Sunday behind Nerve in the top 10. All other things being equal, the only substantial difference I see between the estimated holds and actual holds is the 30M viewers for Phelps and the US swimming team. Would have been interesting if we could have seen the business at that specific time.

That's a good Sunday drop (-22%), considering how harsh the Saturday was.

With a Mon 59%, Tue+20%, Wed-32% Thu-8% and a 70% weekend drop it'll already be at $220m by Sunday. I find it hard to imagine how it'll only make another $40m after that.

But hey, that's your prediction.

GOTG had 1.6% Tues increase, a 26% Wed decrease, a Thur 13.4% decrease so I think your weekday projections are on the high side

Tuesday will be up a lot more than Guardians because the discount day has become huge in the last few years.

BVS dropped 55.5% on its first Monday, 19% on Tuesday, 33.5% on Wednesday and 4.4% on Thursday.

So, I guess tomorrow we'll know if SS performs like BVS, or better or worse.

Monday was a holiday for some parts of the domestic market. That's why it dropped on Tuesday.

BvS was before school let out for summer though, so I would think the pattern would differ.

Why would anyone compare August to March?

Well, BVS is the movie that we should compare to SS, regarding performances.

Unless you want Deadpool to be used in that regard.

Why? Why would you use either BvS or Deadpool? Neither had summer weekdays and both came off of holiday weekends.

At a guess, 61% drop today, +13% Tuesday, -31% Wednesday, -11% Thursday.

Which would give it

11.8

13.3

9.2

8.2

Mon-Thu 42.5 and ~176.2 cume
