Knock on wood if the reviews turn out bad (the reactions seem legit positive though and not just “it’s fun” positive), but my expectations on how this film will do just went up. There also seems to some serious hype for the film overseas too. I think north of 500M worldwide is in play here if it delivers with audiences.

Also good on Chalamet for having this and Dune 2 back to back. Bro’s profile is about to rise higher than it already was. WB should try to lock him in for projects post-Bob Dylan while they can.

If Disney wants to save their box office, they should make him a Disney Prince like they should have fucking done already! I'm still so bitter this hasn't happened!

If you dig deep enough, it have quite a big amount of mixed tweets, especially from more credible writers.

Still, doesn’t look bad to me. It’s getting Mary Poppins Returns reception vibes, which means probably 65-ish on MC and +75% on RT

Which is probably more than enough for this type of movie, based on what I read it deliver exactly what families would like to watch on holidays. It can be big even if reviews ended up being just decent instead of raves.

Battlefield Earth would get positive social embargo reactions in this day and age. Come on. I'll wait for reviews.

Timothee is getting raves. That's all I care about. The rest of the movie can suck ass, but if the people love Timothee....everything's good with the world.

There hasn't been a GA appealing movie to get over 80% on RT and A-range cinemascore since Barbenheimer. Only thing to come close is TMNT which was handicapped by being a reboot and animation penalty.

If Wonka can get both, it will put up massive numbers and be a Jumanji-esque breakout.

Most of the tweets that have gripes seem to be about very minute details, so I’m guessing it’s more nitpicky than large problems that they’ve identified

If Erlich says it’s good then we have a winner here folks.  I was hopeful after King’s Paddington miracles, and now I’m hyped to see this.

Christmas is saved. Sounds like a proper Disney movie that Disney will be crying they haven’t made.
