Stephen King has stated it's one of his favourite horror movies.

TSK is an irrelevant footnote in film history, an awful movie and was nowhere near the success GO was.

 

And yes, no other film this year is going to approach GO's investment to revenue ratio. Not even mentioning that there was no source material, big actor or big filmmaker attached to it.

I'm stanning so hard for this movie at the Oscars - BP, Best Script (those to are guaranteed), BD, BA (Kaluuya over Gyllenhaal would make my day), BSA (if any supporting actor/actress makes it the better). yeah, I want this to happen so badly.

I'd say Stepford Wives and Being John Malkovich were the obvious influences I saw here. Lots of Polanski vibes too.

I hope this does get some Oscar love. It totally deserves it, the definition of an instant classic.

This could either be nominated for a ton of awards or pull a Straight Outta Compton and only get Screenplay.

 

I hope it goes for BP though.

Yes I watched the original stepford wives for the first time a couple months ago and I was surprised just how much this borrows from it. There's a moment that plays pretty exactly like the Keith stanfield scene in this.

 

one thing both movies do is make the main character a photographer which I think is pretty smart. All about their subjective vision that's gonna get taken away and all that.
