I know political correctness runs deep but come on it's totally happening. It's not missing Original Script nom, the studio's gonna campaign it for Picture and it has boxoffice + reviews to back it up.
BirdMan
Unlikely but not impossible IMO
filmlover
10 minutes ago, BirdMan said: you guys really think Get out is happening ??? I know political correctness runs deep but come on It all depends on whether it's resurrected at the end of the year by the critics awards. That's kinda what got Mad Max: Fury Road a few above the line nominations despite being a pure genre film two years back.
Valonqar
if we get Get Out,The Shape of Water and BR2049 in BP line up, it's gonna be a great year for genre movies. of course, a genre win would be most preferable for it hasn't happened since ROTK. Ethan Hunt
I certainly think Get Out will get an Original Screenplay and BP nom

Tech nominations galore are incoming, though.
Cmasterclay
This year is wild. It's a good year, but there's not enough clear dominant forces to make a clear field, even though everything except Post/Phantom Thread (maybe, if it comes)/All The Money in The World (lol?) and Star Wars (lol??) is already screened and pretty much loaded with reviews. Dunkirk and Shape of Water are the only movies I'd use the L word, and I feel pretty confident Darkest Hour and Three Billboards show up at this point too. The other four or five noms? Good luck! Outside of Oldman/Dafoe/Janney I'm not that confident about the acting categories either. Gun to my head, I go... Picture Blade Runner 2049 Call Me By Your Name Darkest Hour Dunkirk Florida Project Lady Bird The Post Shape of Water Three Billboads Outside Ebbing, Missouri I could see Get Out, Battle of the Sexes, or about four other movies just as easily as I can see five of the movies in that category, though. Especially since CMBYN/Florida Project/Lady Bird all have similar fanbases, as do Blade Runner/Dunkirk/Shape of Water. I still say Dunkirk wins over Shape. I am not ruling out Three Billboards or Darkest Hour as winners at all. This is by no means a two horse race.

Jake Gittes
I do hope Florida Project gains enough traction for a Picture nod. It does look all set to become one of the big critical favorites of the year, at least.
That One Girl
Blade Runner might get in with how strong the reactions are. Could see it being the Fury Road of this year
Halba
Blade runner will get nominated, could even win best picture, unbelievable reviews. mindblowing stuff from villeneuve.

He's just happy that it's getting the running time that Dunkirk, on paper, probably should've gotten.
