Impact
So have we gotten to the point where Star Wars will be nominated every year? (okay maybe not in 2018)

Beauty and the Beast Star Wars Dunkirk War for the Planet of the Apes Nov/Dec under 100M budget film, or Jumanji Justice League
WrathOfHan
I'll be shocked if BATB is nominated. The CGI is atrocious at parts.
aabattery
Can't see BatB getting it. It'll get costume design for sure, but it didn't really do anything special to justify getting a VFX nom, especially compared to what else is coming out this year. John Marston
Beauty and the Beast better not get nominated. It had arguably the worst CGI of any recent big budget movie
WrathOfHan
GITS stands a decent chance for a nomination. If it was released closer to the end of the year, I'd say it'd be locked for a nomination.

Rorschach
Alien: Covenant Blade Runner 2049 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Star Wars: The Last Jedi War for the Planet of the Apes Other Potential Films: Thor: Ragnarok Ghost in the Shell Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Dunkirk (a bit iffy on this one) Annihilation
Jake Gittes
Annihilation has been pushed to 2018. Blade Runner, Star Wars and Apes are as close to locked as it can be this far out I think. Guardians has a solid chance. For the fifth spot I'm personally rooting for Ghost in the Shell but there's about six other films that can take it. dxmatrixdt
1. I hope Apes wins this one. 2. Dunkirk should probably get in. 3. Star Wars by default. 4. Another November/December film. 5. and Megan Leavey Edited July 19, 2017 by Matrix4You
