Those guys(kc walsh, omegaundeground) seem to be rising in terms of their scoops.Birds of prey etc but i am still reluctant to trust them.

They’ve been pretty on point the last little while but I mean does it seem so far fetched that Disney would toss the script cause they fired him? That’s really the only reason I even shared the tweet, seems pretty logical at this point. They probably don’t want his name associated with the movie at all if it gets made.

James Gunn wasn't emotionnally and artistically involved with GOTG.

He wasn't particularly invested in this world.

And there may be an unexpected twist to the story. Two sources say there is a hope through the talks that Gunn could return in some fashion, even if it’s to develop and direct another Marvel movie. “An end-all verdict hasn’t been issued and conversations with Marvel are still ongoing,” says one source familiar with the proceedings.

this whole situation is so weird

A lot of those according to people familiar with the proceeding phrasing is not fully clear to me.

Are they https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_balloon from Disney to test how the trade/industry react to some PR scenario or they are from people familiar to how studio tend to work but with not specific knowledge of the current situation.

Disney [Now]: We've hired Gunn as a consultant for our Marvel-Cosmic stuff.

Disney [Next Week]: We've hired Gunn to direct a Marvel Movie

Disney [In two weeks]: We've hired Gunn to direct an untitled Marvel-Cosmic Movie.

Disney [In a month]: We've hired Gunn to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

But any major studio hiring Gunn likely would face immediate criticism from the same people who bombarded Disney with calls for Gunn’s firing after the conservative website The Daily Caller resurfaced tweets Gunn sent from 2008 to 2011 that joked in racist and homophobic fashion.

could this be the turning point of MCU

I think the possible turning point is if and when most of the phase 1 cast retire from the MCU (Iron, Man, Cap, Thor) and having the Guardians could have helped them turn that corner more smoothly.

Now maybe they will still go as well without Gunn, but in the case they stop that group.
