3 days ago I scanned around and found 2 random theaters with relatively low IT sales compared to the rest (probably looked at 20-25 in TX, WA, CA, NY, Northern VA) - both 7pm  Thursday shows.  An AMC Dolby theater in Sugarland , TX went from 2 tickets to 14 now. An AMC in Bellevue, WA went from 11 tickets to 25 now.

I'll report more on my local theaters soon but those were less important of a gauge I thought as they will definitely be full

Yeah I think IT hype got overblown and people got carried away after the tracking was higher then expected. I'll be surprised if it does more then $50-60M OW / $160-180M DOM.

An insider on here said it was selling as well as (or even better than) films that opened in the $100M range...

Lmfao @ basing your entire prediction on how it's doing in two cities in Canada.

It's actually one city lmao, and it's a big one. A big enough sample size to see how big the buzz is, if it ain't hit here it's not hitting anywhere. $50-60m is still big. I don't see it bigger then that though.

Is Canada always 1:1 with the US on American movie, specially something like IT, I suspect it will be a disproportionately USA heavy success over all other market.

I never said there were bad presales..? Just not the $70-80m OW type is all I'm saying.

I have been tracking IT for a week now and it was top 5 on Movietickets for like a day where it even hit #1 for a few hours, but it dropped later in the day and hasn't returned to top 5 since.

I've also been tracking IT on fandango but sadly I don't know how that website works with it's box office meter. I made a post on the IT thread about it:

"I've been following the Fandango Box Office Meter for the past week or so, and I've noticed a pattern in the sales: It appears during the day The Hitman's Bodyguard dominates the sales, and you see a few sales of IT here in there but as it approaches night time the IT sales start to increase, and at around midnight/12:00PM EST, IT starts to completely dominate and basically takes Hitman's spot and more. Even when Hitman is getting sales during the day it does not dominate as hard as IT does when it comes to night time. Annabelle Creation's sales also increase by a bit during night time.

I was wondering how Fandango works exactly..? Based on this pattern it seems it doesn't show live sales, but the time of screening maybe? because horror movies do tend to be for night time. I don't know because that doesn't really sound right either.. so if anyone would want to explain that'd be great.

EDIT: I decided to count the sales for a quick minute(3:20AM EST) and they are as follows (they have been going at this pace for the past few hours so even though I only recorded for a minute, this isn't skewed):

IT: 38 sales

Annabelle Creation: 4 sales

THB: 5 sale"

Huh?  It's number 3 right now, and I doubt it just showed up.
