Tonight at my theater for Dog Days:

7:00: 4/78

9:45: 0/78

Total: 4/156

Neither of my locals even booked it (yet)...seems having so many movies opening in August is making theaters make decisions (and I think mine chose wisely:)...

My AMC is no longer putting The Meg on two screens. It's still in the biggest auditorium, but the late afternoon and late evening shows have been converted to 3D this weekend (still waiting for a full schedule). Maybe they're getting Klansman? 🤞

What if it's all me 🤔

Pink you'll be happy to know that the indie theater near where I work that only gets specialty films (they are getting BlacKkKlansman this weekend) and old-skewing mainstream releases (Mamma Mia, Mission: Impossible) is getting Crazy Rich Asians next week. The multi-audience appeal is real!

Two nearby AMCs both have 8:00 pm Wednesday showings of CRA and they are at roughly 60% and 80% capacity right now. I expect both will sell out. Both showings are in auditoriums with around 100 seats. I wouldn’t be surprised if a second screen is allocated at each theater as moving that many reserved seats to larger auditoriums with different seating structures is a non-starter.

Usually if a sneak preview sells out, it sells out and everyone else will have to wait until the movie officially opens to see it.
