The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

This seems really strong. 83% of IT 2. I say we go for $7-8mn previews. Wish we had US numbers as comp.

Edit: Oh wait. Realised it includes Wednesday numbers which makes it baseless.

Why?  Those Wed numbers are going to be reported as part of the Thr preview, aren't they?  Pretty sure they usually are, that's why I'm tracking them.

They dont tend to scale. Each one have to be tracked separately. Since wednesday shows tend to be limited. Even Onward did well with early advance shows but had little impact on the previews.

True, but from what I recall, limited engagements that appear on a Tue/Wed (like A Star is Born and FB2) tend to be rolled into whatever a studio reports for Thr previews.  They still might break it down, but the official "Thr preview" is the combination of both.

Advance screenings on a Sat or earlier tend to be separate or not reported officially at all (meaning detective work is need to figure out what they were).

From what I recall, as I said.  If Paramount isn't planning on combining the Wed and Thr numbers, then this has been a giant waste of time on my part.

The Day X of sales IT 2 comp is probably going to be misleading from here on out, so I'm gonna remove that comp. In two days I'll have the normal T-X days IT 2 comp.

For all the Dwayne vs. Vin drama it's really not a contest who has the better luck as even Dwayne's flops (like Baywatch or Skyscraper) don't play to mostly empty auditoriums as much as Vin's non-Fast movies do (Guardians/MCU movies are disqualified due to being voice work).
