The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Quite surprised Gems and Bombshell are so high, but that’s far from a bad thing

To be fair this theater (and the others in the other) does tend to skew older, so it's no surprise that group is making plans ahead and making their reservations now to grab most of the good seats. Not like there's gonna be anything else to do that day since everything's closed.

I'll bite...if this thing has 50 million in previews(not guaranteed at all) than it is mathematically impossible for this thing not to pass 200 million

Yea, if previews are $50m then $200m is locked, and over TLJ OW would be 99%.

I think 50m is the best case scenario but if it does hit that and we potentially get a higher OW than TLJ I think we should probably expect another trilogy to be announced at celebration.

If it does hit that than that means TLJ was an age of ultron rather than a dawn of justice.

Incredibly strong day today.  I wasn't expecting 800+ for another 2 days.  But, as good as these numbers are, there was a weird anomaly today that took a big chunk out of it.  One of the showings moved from 7:00pm to 7:30pm and lost all of its sold seats in the process.  So that particular theater is showing 102 fewer seats sold today than it was showing yesterday.  I'm curious to see what happens with that over the next few days.

Hard to say looking here in Canada (toronto) presales are way down compared to Avengers Endgame...no where as good at all..

Sorry if I sound stupid here, but isn't that 100% expected? Endgame opened to 357 million, target for this one is 200 million and then leg it out nicely over Christmas. Was anyone expecting it to rival Endgame OW presales?

Very strong day all the way till sunday. I am sure even days till christmas will have good PS but I can only track so many days for now. I also expect another spurt of show count increase in final week to give huge boost next week. Challenges with previews is most of the ticket sales are happening for very late shows.

Big increase today across the board. But that is expected as we are entering release week. I am expecting big boost on tuesday as showcounts should increase big time as we have final week schedule firm up.

Quick check on D4/5. If I am not wrong there wont be any discount tuesday during that week.
