Yep should be case elsewhere too.

I am being lazy here. Can you and @Porthos post the final numbers you guys had for Post Pandemic flicks, GvK, AQP2 and Cruella.

GvK: 4773 tickets. Only had 9 theaters though. The Black Widow amount in those theaters is 534 tickets.

AQP2: 2205 tickets

Cruella: 678 tickets

GvK had PWPs too right.

AQP2 seems like was 0.5% of Nationwide numbers, and so was Cruella.

F9 by your numbers is also around ~$1.15M so far.

1.953x of A Quiet Place Part II's Thu+Fri T-13 Before Release (37.82M)

So to clarify two things:

1. Yes, I forgot to report sales yesterday. Long story short, family came over, I got both distracted and exhausted from it that I could barely stay awake, and then I passed out when I tried to tally up tickets. Sorry for the incomplete picture, but this stuff happens, and I hope you guys understand that I was a bit too busy last night.

2. The massive seats jump may seem confusing. Basically, Regal theaters here have just shifted their social distancing policy and are now allowing zero social distancing at all. F9 is reaping those rewards here. AMC is still using social distancing well into Black Widow's opening, but that could change once we get closer to release.

And now, onto the real big boy.

Just 815. I guess that's a bust.

Thanks @Eric is Full of Pride

Philly was 0.45% for AQP2 while only 0.3% for Cruella. GvK excl PWPs is 0.43% as well.

This will suggest $1.9M ish for F9 and $2M ish for BW. A bit more than others are telling but that gotta be due to AQP2 being sort of underindexing in Philly I guess.

*some intensive rabbit hole searching later*

Sheeeeeeeet, kill me now.  Like, seriously. :kitschjob:

===

Late last night I noticed that Cinema West yanked its social distance seat markers on both its corp site and on Fandango.  Annoying for that night on the F9 track, but I was able to work around it.  And, hey, maybe that meant they were dumping social distancing like Cinemark did.  Did some digging on Fandango and ran across some corp speak that suggested they just might be doing that at the end of the month

So this afternoon I started checking showtime after showtime looking for showings that obviously showed a lack of social distancing and I thought I found a couple of showings in other Cali towns that did just that.  But it kept gnawing at me, so I went back and checked and found out that those were damaged/unavailable seats and not sold ones.  Terrrific.

To make a long-ish story shorter, I didn't want to waste money by purchasing a seat, checking out a showing, and then canceling it.  But then I remembered the "hold" feature that happens when you select a seat and then go to the payment page.  So I "purchased" a couple of seats to a rando showing and while I was still in the checkout page opened up another window and checked that showing.

YEP.  Social distancing still in effect BUT WITH NO WAY OF TELLING WHAT IS A SOCIAL DISTANCE-ED SEAT AND WHAT IS A PURCHASED ONE.

me right about then:

giphy.gif

Now I got one of two broad paths here.

A] I just excise these showings from my count entirely.  Just lop them off, ignore them, and adjust as needed for historical comps. If they ever actually yank social distancing from their showings or bring back social distancing markers, reintergrate them into the count at that time.

B] "Eyeball" what are the socially distanced seats and what aren't and come up with an approximate number of sold seats for those showings.  It's not that difficult to do when it's a low amount of seats purchased.  Degree of difficulty rises as the number of seats purchased rises.

I'm tempted to do the latter, but the perfectionist in me is leaning to the former.

Now this isn't that big of a deal, as it's only three theaters out of the seventeen reserved seating theaters I am tracking.  On the other hand, one of the theaters is pretty much in the "A-tier" of local theaters and another solidly in the B-tier, so the presence would be missed (though can be adjusted for, as I said).

I am prooobably gonna junk that data coz I. DO. NOT. LIKE. COMPROMISED. DATA.

On the other hand....

42NfJjVqiw8mz9nEhNkqdx2jrtOPgnM9HNBieIuD

IT TASKS ME.  IT TASKS ME TO HAVE THIS DATA AND NOT USE IT

...

Gonna stew for a while.

*some stewing later*

Yeah.  Junking it.  It is theoretically possible Fandango put that social distance hold on its own and it would go away in time.  But as I look at nearly all seats purchased so far at those three theaters, I don't think that's what's going on.

When it comes right down to it, I'd rather adjust with good, verified, data than try to "guess" with compromised data.  If Cinema West ever makes it clear what is going on with purchased seats, they'll go back into the count.

But, for now, can't use them.  Does mean that can't look back at my prior posts for an "easy" comp, but, eh.  I got archived data on my computer that I can dig out for my comps.

(thanks for nothin', Cinema West :kitschjob:)

Reports up in around 90m or so...

Thought about doing a 24 hour update, but don't really wanna get up that early. There shouldn't be much ticket sales for the next 6 hours anyways, so this will be close to the 24 hour figure.

ADJUSTMENT NOTE #1:  The comp for KotM has been adjusted downward by 10% to reflect theaters closures in much of Canada.

ADJUSTMENT NOTE #2:  F9 (AQP adj) is the amount of seats sold if I did not track D-BOX seating in the region, which I started to do with this track.

ADJUSTMENT NOTE #3:  F9 (KotM adj) is the ticket data at the same theaters I had tracking info for King of the Monsters.
