I checked back, it was about 130k unadjusted (so maybe 143k adjusted). NWH currently is in 138k with 30 theaters missing, ironically that is almost exactly the same number of theaters that I didn't have for TROS and do now, so it's very likely that it has actually well surpassed TROS by now. That said I don't want to project a 24-hr number without knowing how much the errored out shows and missing theaters will affect things.

it would seem to me that $40 million previews is at least on the table right now….

Holy freaking shit man what is this...

This reminds me of the "Waiting outside of Apple for the release of Iphone 7" videos you'd used to watch on YT. Mfs camping outside.

Can't even do some seat checks on Cineplex for NWH because I get servers are nutty. Will have to check this evening in the hopes that I can get some numbers.

And yea supporting Toronto stuff is that its only deluxe theatres, no reg shows. Reg shows they usually put closer to the date in my experience with Cineplex

Its working fine for me.

Aww, the in person lines are just so quaint. I love it. Make them work for those tickets. I remember the days when they didn’t have advanced seating, and you had to spend the entire day at the movie theater in order to get a seat!

Funny story, I was waiting in line for Star Wars, and the news crew showed up to cover people going to see the Star Wars movie. And one of the cameraman like clocked me, I was like oh my God it’s a girl. And immediately asked if I would be interviewed. 😂😂

DM me the video.

I don't think I waited for tickets in BIG line, small 4-5 person line sure.

For Endgame however, I was not able to book my ticket for FDFS and it was sold out online. I book a safety ticket for 2nd show, but knew that cinema block some 20 seats to sell at end moment. I reached cinema 1 hour early, start enquiring about ticket for the show, they keep pushing me out of convo saying tickets are sold out, completely denying my theory of cinema having blocked seats, saying all are sold online. Just 5 mins before show I almost lost hope, and then the box office girl called me up and said that just now 2 seats opened, I was like yeah sure.

That's how I got the ticket, not exactly a line, but had to wait for an hour.

just 2? flop.

he’s 79. I’m being considerate.

Also considering where House of Gucci ends up, NWH OW will certainly outgross Ridley Scott’s last 4 movies DOM Total.

I have one issue. @Porthos you ever face this?

So as I mentioned earlier, Harkins block seat in every show which aren't sold online. I never had any sold out show, so I had always assume that the blocked seat remain unsold. Should I continue assuming that for what looks like sold out show online?

e.g. One show I have has 427 capacity and 36 are blocked. 391 are probably sold online, I have no way of knowing whether 36 will be sold or not. I am leaning toward counting 391 than 427.

*have time to catch up slightly*

Yeah, I always count those as blocked out an unavailable.  Could be damaged seats.  Could be set aside for employees.  Could be a bug somewhere.  Either way, no way to know if it is only sold on-site or not, so I always count it as unavailable, even if the showing sells out.  Usually a rounding error when all is said and done.

So turned out the sellouts were error.

No matter how much I want tickets for a certain film, I'll never fight people in public like this. This is in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Cinépolis NWH ticket waiting line.

EDIT: Apparently, those boys were waiting for a very long time in line for tickets and then a few people came in, breaking the line, and a fight happened.

I honestly don't understand the insanity. All the theaters in my area have tons of seats available. Some showings with not even a seat sold. Although I guess when there are like 13 showings on Thursday at one theater that's to be expected.

This movie has been on sale for nine hours and has passed final sales (1 hour before previews start) of all other movies I've tracked.  I'm kinda speechless at the moment.  Here's how sales are looking, even with the matinee prices for early shows:

Spider-Man - $108,670 (13.91 ATP)

Black Widow Final - $94,329 (12.81 ATP)

Eternals Final - $74,356 (13.84 ATP)

Shang-Chi Final - $54,954 (13.41 ATP)

Format breakdown - so far it's at 54% standard/46% PLF

UPzdTNY.png

Showtime sample is already returning 9,578 US shows with 1,181 of those being PLF.  Eternals was at 9,541 two weeks out, but it had 2,473 theaters with shows up, whereas Spider-Man only has 1,315 listed so far.

Showtime breakdown

Santikos theaters (8 theaters) first run.  PLF actually outselling the standard shows so far.
