It is hard to critique a movie I liked a lot, but Claire from the first movie does not have much in common with Claire of the second movie, and the Pratt character was always pretty much a trope. Never felt like a room of writers making an human study of what those people would do, but molded them into a list of event they wanted to happen. I am not sure that character being just plot device is much of an issue, specially for plot heavy movies. scabab
Updated again so as of the 8th it's at $1.264 billion. Can it make another $36 million to get to $1.3 billion? It's probably got another $10 million maybe more just domestically.

MrFanaticGuy34
I think OS actuals will unsurprisingly go up for JW2. And then tomorrow it will have beaten Frozen’s WW-gross, pushing that film to 13th place.
scabab
Still needs another $24 million to get to $1.3 billion.

Japan has it's Obon Festival coming up which makes every weekday act like a full blown weekend. JW2 has about $20m left in JP, although it's performance this week could change that to $15m or $25m.
a2k
Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $409,632,945 32.1% + Foreign: $866,800,000 67.9% = Worldwide: $1,276,432,945 jw2 dom will fetch 5-6m more after 2m weekend. japan is on 58m and should bring in about 12-17m more (70-75 total)* guessing 3-5m more from os-japan gives a range of, 1276.4 + 5 + 12 + 3 = 1296.4 1276.4 + 6 + 17 + 5 = 1304.4 *corpse, japan bo Quote Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had a harsh 50% drop last weekend due to screen/showtime & IMAX cuts, but it recovered some over the past weekdays, and is going to enjoy a solid fifth-weekend increase ahead of the holiday period. It's still in the three-way battle with Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer and Code Blue for the 2018 yearly crown, but it'll need a particularly strong Obon Festival to remain competitive. We'll see. A total of ¥8-8.5 billion ($70-75 million) remains the likely total.

Not really
OS-J weekend ($3.9M) is about twice as large as DOM weekend. Edit: It's 3.4, not 3.9, still significantly larger compared to DOM. Edited August 14, 2018 by Not really
Purple Minion
Deadline: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ices Frozen’s overseas gross to become the No. 11 release ever offshore. Valonqar
I hope actual number takes it to at least 1,290B because 1289.9B is so annoying.

Say 7-8 more for 73-74 total. Dom+Japan takes the movie to 1300-1302. Not sure how much OS-Japan is bringing in atm.
