$85M budget as well. Someone wasn't making responsible decisions when that got greenlit.

Wow I did not know that the movie cost that much. 85 million in 1998 is a very big budget, especially for some mediocre family film.

I am felling sorry for Fassbender. The guy is an amazing actor. If anything, I can watch a movie he's in knowing that if everything else sucks, at least I will get a great performance. I watched Hunger a few days back and it was brilliantly acted. And his Macbeth is one of my all time favorite films.

I am also feeling sorry for Geostorm and I hope OS will be huge enough to save it.

That film is absolutely working, stoking its audience and winning the weekend off a respectable low $20M production cost with an estimated three day of $22M, just 23% off from its first chapter’s debut a year ago. The sequel even received an A- CinemaScore tonight to Boo‘s ‘A’ grade last year.

This weekend, the multiplex marquee looks like a Netflix menu with Warner Bros./Skydance’s $120M-plus budgeted Geostorm rained out with an estimated $12.2M, the critically acclaimed Only the Brave seriously underperforming with $6.2M, Universal/Working Title’s The Snowman turned to slush with $3.7M, and even PureFlix/Paramount’s Same Kind of Different As Me arriving slightly under its tracking estimates with $2.9M.

100m will happen. Just 5.2 away after a 3.2 weekend. Even a huge drop due to Thor3 won't hinder it's chances.
