A teaching assistant got fired for playing a video of a debate from a publicly funded government channel about the correct use of Gender Pronouns. 

 

Students complained that it was Transphobic and was like 'watching Hitler'.  The TA was fired but in response has caused a massive backlash against the thought police at Universities. 

 

Unsure about the United States, but in Canada, the tide has turned against the taking away Free Speech at Universities in a thoughtful meaningful way from extremists from both sides who have poisoned the well.

I think its important meaningful debate can happen at Universities or I think such places will become largely discredited by the public over time.
