Can I be amused that for a holdover on its 2nd weekend, Deadline dropped from a $63M weekend estimate to a $54M weekend estimate in 8 hours?:)  That's not even close (although it will be funnier if it then goes back up, but I don't think it will with that Friday number, but I've been proven wrong before Daddy's Home 2 viewers:)...

Feds were off, though...that is an enormous amount of normally busy adults to add to the pool...

No doubt it added to the pool, but I don't think it quite created another Saturday is all.  We'll see once we have today to compare of course

I thought 60 m was dead for Bad Moms after the low 3 day OW and the shitty RT rating.

The legs have been impressive.

Looks like recent comedies are critic proof and tracking proof.

Yeah if it'as at 39.8m after a 11.4m 2nd weekend then adding 20m more to it's cume for 60m is a given I guess. Could do 65-70m too. The prod budget's only 28m so a good win for STX.

I’d like the schedule. Everything on their would have the advantage to make solid money.

Spoiler

Yep, Murder on the Orient Express really could have taken advantage of the barren adult drama market in Sep/Oct. Other than Blade Runner, none of them came close to resonating with a wide audience. It could have even been a perfect release for 8/4 or 8/11, given how weak the summer got from 7/28 on.

I would have done this if I were Fox:

The Mountain Between Us - 9/1 (wasn't going to do huge numbers regardless of the week, might as well aim for a $15 million 4-day)

Kingsman 2 - 9/22

Murder on the Orient Express - 10/13

Ferdinand - 11/3

The Greatest Showman - 11/22

The Shape of Water - 11/22 (limited release), 12/1 (expansion), 12/8 (wide release), continual expansion throughout Dec/Jan

The Post - 12/8 (limited release), 12/15 (expansion), 12/20 (wide release)
