I'd argue our best actor is still preferable to supporting actor, where there's only one real great performance (Dafoe) as opposed to at least Chalamet and Kaluuya in the former. Gosling is the only one who's a real head-scratcher to me.

i voted for gosling best leading male performance of the year #gosquad #slayrunner #getlit #repliCAN #saynotomethboy

We all know it's gonna be Dunkirk.

It better be. It’s the first Nolan I’ve absolutely loved.

If Shape of Blandness wins I might die.

Nolan has more trouble with Boffies so don’t be so sure

Only one I can really see upsetting is Blade Runner or maybe Coco. Having a hard time seeing the other 7 winning here (even if 3 of them are apparently not far off).

I think Get Out could do very well too.

I have the complete opposite take.

I loved Shape of Water, though it's second on my ballot after CMBYN.

Dunkirk was last.  Pretty looking and technically skilled but emotionally non-engaging without even delivering on the great scope and stakes of the historical event.

Complete opposite point to the point that it's the first Nolan you disliked?

It's closing in on midnight here. Do I betray my BOT family by sleeping through this but waking up in time for the Oscars? But then, to think of it another way, that means one less person whining about the undeserving winners as they get announced.
