What a strange world it is that I’m finding myself agreeing with Ethan more and more.

But TGS’s music is trash.  It’s uninspired, hits the cliche and boring Poppish beats, lacks any sort of lyrical wit, is a style that really doesn’t fit the story being told, and it all blends together.

Theyre songs written for audiences that eat up trite stuff from shows like Wicked and American Idol.

La La Land’s stuff is vocally flawed but the actual music is great.  I’ll definitely take that over the squeaky clean top 40 pop ballads.

Into the woods music > LLL and TGS

Anyways, spectacular number for Jumanji. 400 million possible? What in the actual fuck? Hit the right demo I guess.

Into the Woods is written by Sondheim of course it’s better than LLL and TGS, lol.  I don’t love the movie adaption, but Sondheim’s music is brilliant.

We had La La Land becoming the 3rd live action musical to break 150m last year. Then BatB shattered the all time live action record. TGS might soon be the 5th to hit 150m. I think Mamma Mia is going to be pretty big this summer. Can see it matching the original and maybe being the 6th to that 150 mark. Wicked will probably do 200+. In short, I'd say the musical might be back with a vengeance.

Yeah. Similar thing happened with F7. That film was upped to $353M DOM as latest update back in 2015.

I mean that isn't 49% of an audience, that's not even 0.3% of the audience. But I will say a 49% on RT for TLJ still seems suspect. The filming alone would make it rank higher than a transformers film. My point was Audience Scores on RT mean absolutely nothing.

I can't believe how far Transformers has fallen as a franchise.

5 Transformers: The Last Knight Par. $129,978,500 $130,168,683 6/21/17

Lmao.

WW2 is not increasing.

The first one had unbelievable legs.

The second will have a slightly bigger OW then have typical blockbuster drops.

WW2 > SW9

You heard it here first !

You hopefully have no problem with me quoting you when SW9 outgrosses WW2 in under 3 weeks, yes? :sparta:

Ftr, i think WW2 has the potential for 450M+, if the movie is excellent and Frozen 2 doesnt eat too much into its legs. SW9 wil cruise past 600M easily.

I haven't seen TGS so I can't say anything about it. But La La Land is the first musical I can't remember a song from.

I realize only a Sith deals in absolutes, but this is really kind of not possible.  SW9 might even make more than WW2 in two full weeks.
