Top Gun Maverick | May 27, 2022 | Catch it in theaters...again on December 2nd! | Comes to Paramount+ on December 22!

DO some math to clear up what i'm saying:

Lets say Paramount gets 55% of domestic collections and obviously 40% of foreign collections since no China

Now lets say TGM finishes with 700m DOM and 650m INT

700m *.55 = 385m

650m * .4 = 260m

So total of 645m, Tom gets 10% of THAT so $64.5m bonus check and he's also reportedly going to get cut of licensing deals, merch sales and home video sales whose numbers nobody can predict

From what I've read its 10% after theaters take their cut + cut of licensing, home video , merch, etc

so from the box office, lets say it finishes with 1.3bil and theaters take say 650mil, then he gets 65mil bonus check

Assuming 1.3b as its WW gross lets roughly calculate the returns based on %....

Dom - 650m - lets take in US studios get 55% of total gross = 357.5m

OS- 650m - Since the OS takeway in varies...lets take 40% overall = 260m

Total returns after taxes and misc...it comes upto 617.5m....

Fun Fact of the Day

Through 39 days, TGM has not gone below $4M in a single day at the domestic box office. This is the longest such streak in history, eclipsing the previous record held by Avatar @ 33 days. It’s likely (though not assured) that it will fall below $4M on its 40th day of release.

Upcoming consecutive days records….

$3M+ Days = Avatar @ 45

$2M+ Days = Avatar @ 54

$1M+ Days = Titanic @ 101

Prime Video has Aug 23 as digital release date , probably same as P+

This is after 13th weekend from its opening weekend. Not as lengthy as 120 days but still the longest a movie got in post-pandemic era.

The date could just be a place holder, Amazon was inching to put up any date so more people would order it.

It won't be official until Paramount announces the release date. I'm still hoping for 120 days.
