It's possible that we get 4 500+ dom grossers in alternating months.

When TDK had crossed 500 it had become the 2nd biggest film after Titanic. Inflation, premium screens, some lucky scheduling, merit of these films/franchises - along with other factors are playing a role in giving us this unique pattern.

Don't think JW gets there but still pretty crazy

This means BO.com is thinking that Sunday is 19.21 million. Which is down 36% from Saturday. It's a reasonable drop but I think BP's actuals will probably come in higher once again. So 66m+ is more likely at this point.

Lady bird last weekend went wrong, shouldn't be just 669k, should be 826k, 33% up based on the daily figure, but the weekend figure reflect otherwise, which one was correct?

There's something fishy with last Saturday's numbers for certain movies on BOM. According to them Lady Bird jumped 270% on that day, while Phantom Thread went up 184% on Saturday AND 24% on Sunday. Darkest Hour also jumped 132% on Saturday.

Annihilation had a decent hold considering the subject matter and reception. Anything Sci-Fi that drops less than 50% in weekend 2 had a good hold.

Great retention by Shape of Water and Billboards - hopefully Billboards if it wins is able to pull over the 57m mark and be the biggest grossing winner since 2012's Argo (passing the 56.6 of 12 years a slave)

Shape of Water is also going to get a solid total - should pass 60m even if it loses.

Not quite enough for 900m WW - guess we have to wait another day. Dang, when one thinks about how this total is a great FINAL total and the film is still going and has China to come overseas....

A lot of theaters are doing Oscar marathons of all the Best Picture nominees with only one or two showings a day of each movie. Makes sense the Saturday increases are enormous.

I think it is the AMC and Regal best picture showcase events that held across the nation boost the figure, only it wasn't reported initially
