What @TalismanRing said; also, Deadpool 2 is direct superhero genre competition and it'll open within the 150M vincinity. I can't see IW dropping under 50% myself.

Yeah, DP2 is a big obstacle cause hype is real. people are pumped and it's a direct competition in some demos. However, families will stir clear cause of its rating and younger teens need escort, so it won't hit IW  as hard as highly anticipated PG-13 SH movie would.

......trust me: kids will go to see Deadpool   Deadpool is like the ultimate superhero for 8-12 year olds, he just curses and slices heads off, after all. Or you think the 1st one got to 132M 3-days / 150+ 4-days without a lot of (unsuspecting, I presume) family and child support?

IW is definitely gonna drop hard against Deadpool 2, but Memorial Day should make up for that somewhat (though Solo is obviously also gonna take screens and families away).

i saw lots of teens/kids at the first deadpool. However, Solo is the main competition for families anyways.

Oh, I agree about that! DP is legit great (watched it again last night) and indeed the ultimate SH movie for that age (and everyone that age at heart )  Just wasn't sure if parents would take them and sneaking into the show while holding a ticket for another movie doesn't boost DP2 boxoffice. 

 

@babz06 so good thing that Solo comes out in 2 weeks instead of 1.
