143 ow would leave it 2.54x away from DP1's 363.

Not a bad number at all for DP2. I do think it's going to be frontloaded even for a funny book movie, but it's starting out very well.

Deadpool opened on Valentine's Day Weekend. It will NOT follow the same trajectory lol 

 

But I would say $140M-$150M is possible especially when you compare it with other R-Rated openers that opened big like IT, Logan, Fifty Shades etc

Think its opening to about 130 million for sure.

 

I think the issue is that Deadpool compared to Solo or IW has less of a hardcore fanbase and a large number of casuals...who will simply walk up and watch this movie the day or buy tickets the day of.

Golden Girls: The Movie looks like it's going to do well too. I wonder what it cost? Production costs should be pretty low, but that cast could still add up.

Also I finally got a preview number right. Predicted $18M-$20M for DP2 based on my theaters. They finally didn't fail me for once

GOTG2 od (56.1) = 3.3 * previews (17.0)

 

DP2 needs 3.23 * 18.6 for 60 od.

Book Club looks it was a canny pick up for Paramount, I can’t imagine it was that costly so it’ll make a nice profit for them

Ah, Paramount picked up domestic (plus France and UK) rights for Book Club for $10M.  Even with marketing it seems likely they'll make a tidy profit there.
