Weekend Thread....Please read the staff announcement pg 104 (Solo 29.2...DP 23.3...Adrift 11.5)

Recommended Posts

does anyone know if Star Wars is supposed to hold all 4,381 locations next week?  The other Star Wars films do 3 weeks.  I guess maybe you could tell if just one theater is dropping nearby.

if there is an evidence of just one, then I can go ahead and assume (-200) for next week to get to 4,181 which is similar to the 4,161 of DP2 week 3

and when people see the movie and after its over, fans are created and non fans , especially with anticipated fan driven events you get the divisiveness appearing from media outlets and peoples expressing it by other means.

Sci-fi stuff like mother!, Vanilla Sky, Under the Skin, Annihilation and Inception (last 5 seconds) also create fans and dislike to varying degrees per feature.

predictions are predictions, after you see the trailers, you don't know what the movies are about, what the script is, or how they will be received.  production budgets, international expectations, etc.

it seems if I was to go from forecasting to going on the inside to get the information, i would have to take my head out of my own ass and put it up someone elses

That's the history basically behind SW, Rocky, Avatar, Avengers*, etc.

*="But RRA, that was a major comic IP!" Yeah but I mentioned it in reference to it kick-starting the Hollywood hunger for shared universes.

Sometimes the most successful franchise of all time is created when they realize these fans are the only reason most of these people have any real fame and fortune and prestige (MCU).

I agree fanbases can be toxic but frankly, in a world of shared universes and franchises, the industry needs them to stay relevant.
