Decreasing from estimates. I guess the R-rating ain’t exactly all Father’s Day friendly.

Still a good drop though.

So this twitter guy who reported 179 actuals isn't legit?

I think we need a list of non-trustable sources so no one quotes them :sparta:

I’d believe not as Deadline is saying 183m actuals and at this point they’d know

Aren't math and a cool head required for Med School?

That’s what I thought but apparently they’re letting everyone in these days. The participation trophy generation indeed

Wonder how long until the top ten openings are all 200. There’s Avengers 4 (#locked), there’s Lion King (very good chance despite movieman’s claims to the contrary), and SW9 (...maybe?). That makes 9.

The former two, yes. The latter, we'll have to wait and see quite honestly.

The overrated Deadpool starring box office poison Ryan Reynolds is a flop. No surprise there. When will Hollywood learn budget Spider-Man isn’t clicking with audiences. Sad!

Why is Germany so hard for Hollywood to penetrate?

Is Germany different than the average market ?

If hollywood market share is lower it is not the strenght of local cinema like it is for a market like France.

2016 German box office was dominated by Hollywood, with only 2 non-US movies in the Top 25:

Is cinema going in general dying in Germany, or Hollywood?

The first half year is down 16% in admissions.

And the end of the year lacks really big films FJG3 (6m adm. last year) and TLJ (5.8M adm.)

So the year might end around just 100-105m adm.

The five worst years are (in admissions):

1992: 105.9M

1986: 105.2M

1985: 104.2M

1990: 102.5M

1989: 101.2M

Last year 122.3M admissions were sold. 2015 it were 139.2M (and 2001 it were 177.9M)

If really just 105M (~€920M) add get sold the gross would actually be below the one of 2001 and 2002 and the worst since 2010 (€920M)
