McQ just did a podcast. He and Cruise are working on a brutal hard R action thriller, sort of a modern day Dirty Harry.

Please don't call him "McQ."  It brings back bad memories of that other "director" called "McG" who of course is like a flea flying around in McQuarrie's face in terms of talent.

It's also a really bad John Wayne movie.  😁

He worked on "Chuck" though... And the OC!

Everyone's gotta start somewhere...but once he hit features, he's the pits.

Paramount, too, has a rich history with the Super Bowl. This year we hear there will be spots for Scream VI (March 10), Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (March 31) and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (June 9). Not expected: a trailer for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (July 14). Paramount had one for Mission: Impossible Fallout back during Super Bowl 2018.

I’ll play it safe with this one and just say that the reactions coming in for “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning (Part One)” are INCREDIBLE. Nerve-jangling. A lot of cliff jumping. Steep mountain riding. “Tom Cruise is certifiably nuts,” one person says. Oh, and the cut screened last night was a little over 3 hours.

3 hours cut, so it's not the final film...not even close. so those enthusiastic reactions are good, but not revelatory

Runtimes hardly change that much this close since the movie will probably be finished in 2 or 3 months, especially when it´s so well received in test screenings

The final movie will probably be 165-170 minutes
