The titles for FB1 and FB2 line up with Days of Future Past and Apocalypse quite nicely. 🧐

I think it'll outdo that, but I'm pretty confident that it doesn't cross $100m. Currently predicting $40m/$90m.

That's a ludicrous multiplier.

Has any franchise had the fucking wind just relentlessly beaten out of it harder than Harry Potter? Maybe the X-Men by the end but it still had Logan and Deadpool propping it up. The ten years since Deathly Hallows 2 has been calamitous.

Harry Potter is still very much alive, it still has multiple theme parks and a big ass merch store that opened last year in New York. If you're just looking at the FB series and JK Rowlings foolishness and thinking "wow HP is dead" then it seems like your simply missing for the forest for the trees.

Now I'll grant you that the brand atm is very singular compared to other franchise; just been books and movies thus far. There is that Hogwarts Legacy video game coming out soon which looks promising, and maybe we'll start getting more projects that aren't just solely made by the crew from the OG series.

It's less that the brand is singular, it's got books, movies, theme parks, musicals, plays and so on, and more that it's having a failure to branch out beyond the original set of movies and books.

The first Fantastic Beasts was a good start, but the second movie shit the bed something fierce. The sequel to a successful movie is sometimes more important the first movie because it can create a franchise which never dies (look at Terminator and Alien which are still going on the strength of the first 2 movies).

I am probably way late here, but the game sound promising in that regard, different era (again) completely:

I don't think those two are really good examples of franchises that never die.

I sometimes forget that Alien: Covenant exists. Truly a Dark Fate for the Franchise.

Yeah. 35m/85m. I expect the second weekend regardless of quality will drop at least 55% due to post Easter and fanbase. MoM will kill off the legs later.

Because you know if the film will be good for you?
Let the film have its journey and then we'll see what it is, damn it, it didn't even come out that you're already criticizing.
