EmmaPeel
That seems like an odd leap to make given that Freaky was an original property without a major box office draw while the box office in general was in a massive pandemic induced lull. Halloween is a decades old franchise with a built in audience and it's namesake holiday is coming up fast. While the box office isn't normal, a lot of people will come out now for something they want to see and that wasn't true last fall.

Krissykins
Yeh that makes zero sense. Blum released The Forever Purge normally too.

All horror sequels with mediocre reviews have performed well in the pandemic recently. ESCR2, DB2, Purge. So why would Halloween change that? Because reviews are so so? People want to watch horror on the big screen for the communal experience.

I mean this is the 12th Halloween movie, Good or bad*, its got a baked in audience. *=A mostly bad franchise, let's be honest.

I’m gettin’ my dancing shoes on for the “Halloween Hoedown” where I’ll be on #TheLastDriveIn with #DavidGordonGreen, talking to @therealjoebob about #HalloweenKills and so much more. Krissykins
Reaction from the horror crowd at Beyond Fest last night seems positive. Any predictions? Long range forecast is $40-55m but I think $40m is in risk because of piracy and peacock. I’d like it to open over $30m.
ViktorLosAngeles
30-ish million $ would be great! I’d say 25 million$ and 35 million $ if we’re lucky. 45-55 million $ looks unrealistic hoenstly.
