Heretic
The pound has weakened significantly in the last year from $1.4 to $1.2, almost the lowest since 1985 (!) so not good news for international grosses. To reach $100m in todays terms requires £83m.
Sophia Jane
Spiderman just drop 20% on its 7th Weekend (box office :1.77m pounds)with 2 new film opening ,so TGM is doing worse than Spiderman this weekend Spiderman have really super leggy run here. Early WOM seems good here though, from in person interactions, anecdotal of course.

That you cannot fight. Next weekend if the weather worsens watch TGM increase.

Jonwo
Elvis is still doing strong business, can't believe it's going to be beat The Great Gatsby's total. Edited July 10, 2022 by Jonwo
The Dark Alfred
Yea we are having a lengthly heatwave run. Box office will suffer. The good news I guess for the films are currently playing that there isn't much competition, Elvis, TGM, Thor, Minions will be still around cinemas come August. This weekend was Wimbledon finals as well. I just went for walk near Kings Cross canal in London and I have never seen that many people sitting outside watching Wimbledon and then Everyman pop-up screen. People are out. This weather completely kills repeat business.
Krissykins
1. Thor Love & Thunder £9.1m 3 day, £12.3m 4 day. Widest ever MCU release: 696 locations 2. Minions £4.3m -59% £18.5m 3. Elvis £1.3m £13.8m 4. Top Gun Maverick £1m -63% £70.6m 5. Jurassic World Dominion £559k £31.7m 6. Lightyear £227k £9m 7. The Black Phone £207k £3.2m Brian and Charles £73k Maybe helping to combat the weather: only Railway Children opens this weekend and is only getting 4 showtimes at my local, the other films look pretty much unaffected. Apart from Dominion which goes down to one nighttime showing. Edited July 11, 2022 by Krissykins 1
The Dark Alfred
Bit of rain arrived tonight, so hopefully Tuesday numbers will be better, the top two dropped hard on Monday, and in general most films more 50% down from last week.

Temps look set to reach high 30s Monday and Tuesday, potentially even the 40 mark I’ve heard floating around, which is just unprecedented for the UK.
