I hope it is since it's a 25 yr old film and we've gone with the home foreign release date before with older lists.

IMDB lists it as 1994.  So you're good.

It's understandable.  Why pay to see it when the original which is far superior plays every year on TV multiple times during X-Mas.

I love the original, but I was always under the impression the remake did really well? Box office in 1994 brings back all kinds of stat memories in my head, but this one just escaped me for some reason.  Besides, this is a much loved remake that was really well received.   I just forgot it did such mediocre business, considering it's now a Xmas classic for many (and yes, I'm talking about the 94 one, as well as the original)

I didn't like White enough to place it in my 1994's top 5.

 

There is another French film in 1994, released in US in 1995, which i adore very much - Wild Reeds.

I didn't watch enough number of 1994s film to come out top 30's list..

I remember watching it on VHS 1 year later in summer of 95 and enjoying it more then what I just went through. 

 

I wish I knew what I was watching on tv back then.

  I can't even sync my memory with that 1994 weekend box office schedule.    

TLK was previews for Demon Knight Jan 1995, scary scary!, end of the world? on the other side of the wall?

(The sound effects of the T-rexes in Land Before Time 2.  The snake in The Jungle Book and Collateral Damage)  

But it wasn't about scary movies, it was about having to do something else, but I don't remember.

were exciting movies really that hard to make back then?  were they poor or broke or what?  Return of the Jedi from 1983 was still the movie to beat on half the budget, and only one of those came out between 1983 and 1994.  

I think now a days people would be dancing in their seats screaming hallelujah for a Friday the 13th adaptation of a Jason Vorhees video game.  For him to get out there and take care of business again.
