So the $13.84M includes the earlier preview #s, I was wondering if that was the case...

So basically $9.5M or so without both sets of previews. Definite frontloading. We'll see how it holds today and tomorrow (although it's already in the black so it's all moot).

I was thinking if this is possible the 1st 100m grosser for Focus feature but nah......Looks like it will not,

Still, A cinemascore from older crowd is a good sign of its holding power

Hustlers is looking set for a $100M+ total. Good Boys has become one of the bigger surprises of the year and will easily cross $80M+.

The fact Brittany Runs a Marathon is gonna end up with a higher total than The Goldfinch despite not even playing in half the amount of theaters is truly funny.

Lionsgate paid less than $10 million to acquire "Rambo: Last Blood "

https://deadline.com/2019/09/downton-abbey-rambo-last-blood-ad-astra-hustlers-weekend-box-office-1202739525/

Lionsgate acquired U.S. for under $10M, and like most of their steak-and-potato action movies, they will make money. For Lionsgate to economically get involved in this pic, they bet that Rambo V would open to at least $15M.

From What I can gather from Ad Astra s audience reception, it seems the movie is on its way to give the middle finger to big pharma :

cure for insomnia is here people.

Don't poison you body, stop sleeping pills, whatch Ad Astra.

They also spent an ungodly amount on domestic TV spots. Over $40m, that may not sound like a lot but in comparison Minions spent 25m on TV ads.

That was pretty much the norm for WB wide release that summer:

Comedy like Entourage release budget are quite domestic heavy (often a somewhat 40m-20m kind of split).

Not sure how DA is supposed to make 35m with 2 days of previews factored into the Friday number..... sheesh seems we have lots of people that forget how these things work.

BOP has 35 off of the Friday. It’s strange since they’re usually pretty good, but that x3.2 the true Friday is not happening.

To be fair, the article mentions that the writer was unsure if the pre-preview sneaks were included in there or not. Not sure why they haven't updated it yet, now that we have the information, but whatever.

Ah, I did miss that. With a 11.7 True Friday 35 would seem kind of conservative though.

30 should be the goal for DA. If it comes in at 30-31, people shouldn't suddenly think it's "underperforming".

Now, if the weekend number stars with a 2, I could see people starting to call into question its legs.
