Does RT even matter to general audiences? Critics panned uncharted and it wildly outperformed expectations set before reviews even came out

Yeh, the certified fresh logo is certainly used a lot in marketing. It’s plastered all over digital release artwork and DVD/Blu-ray covers now. The RT score is also including on some streaming stores now too.

Rotten Tomatoes is pretty mainstream now. But it holds extra power over superhero films. I think it’s used a lot in fan wars and trolling within that type of online audience.

RT definitely matters as a promotional tool, and I'm sure a franchise that imo is dealing with some franchise fatigue like Batman will benefit a lot from renewed critical praise. It's certainly more convincing than random dubiously-source pullquotes like "ACTION-PACKED!" or "BATMAN IS BACK!"

"Depressing, dark and endless. I don’t know about you, but this particular time in history does not seem like the moment for a movie that will leave you a) miserable and b) wondering why nobody in Gotham City seems to have heard of light bulbs."

That’s not how you’re supposed to review a film…

See reviews about Joker, this is how a lot of critics operate these days
