Quite like the new Illumination logo. Trailer was okay but it's lacking a hook compared to previous Illumination films.

Getting Madagascar vibes from this.  The Christmas holiday period pretty much ensures this will be a hit given it's the only kids-skewing film like Puss was last year.

I keep seeing comments that this is a "different" artstyle than typical CGI...it looks more muted but I wouldn't call it different.

Seems like a Blue Sky movie in tone, but the animation looks a step up from Illumination's usual stuff.

Wow they are really hung up on branding this movie as Illumination. Creators of Minions.

 

They didn't go that far for the Sing movies, though.

I don't know why exactly audiences eat up everything Illumination makes (though I am partial to the Sing movies).

 

Anyways, this is a surefire hit. $200m dom most likely. Just look at Puss 2 and Sing 2

Well, the View Conference event is at 11:30 AM Italy time on the 19th but it's only blocked out for an hour, so I'm not sure if it's an actual "premiere" or if something has been lost in translation.

I think he could be really good at the box office I think the objectif is to go to the same level as Puss In Boots 2 or Sing 2 , like 150-200 DOM and 400 in total , with the budget of 90M of dollars, he could be really profitable  for Universal.

 

Also , i think the movie seems good for me, the reception for 15-20 minutes at the Annecy Festival in June was really good .

 

So Universal and specially Illumination film will have a excellent year and could be the movie which everybody say after Universal>Disney movies
