Weekend Thread (6/3-5) | Top Gun 2 drops 29% for 90M. The smallest second weekend drop ever for a 100M+ opener!

Amazing for TGM, will likely go up with actuals.

MOM has stabilized.

EEAAO is now offically the biggest A24 movie, passed 60M.

Under the radar but The Northman isn't a terrible flop. It was at 33.9M dom and 67M WW last week. So better than expected and already over TLD and TGK combined. It's the ridiculous budget that drags it down.

Assuming the movie make $47m next week, TGM will be at around 385m by the end of 3rd weekend. That is 3X legs already with more holidays to come such as Independence Day and father day where both holidays are perfect day to see TGM.

Father's day is not a holiday but we have Juneteenth coming up and so monday 6/20 is a holiday. So 2 long weekends coming 2 weeks after one another will be huge benefit to all the movies but WOM monsters tend to amp up the best. I am thinking 600m domestic is happening.

Fathers Day could be HUGE. Top Gun, Dominion and even Lightyear to an extent are excellent Dads movies.

While not a holiday, Father's Day Sunday always inflates numbers a good deal for dad flicks.

Top Gun is probably locked to 1B at this point

It need only 450M OS (maybe even less), and it's nearly 260M already with excellent holds everywhere

do we have OS number this weekend? Also, when does it open in Korea which should be big?

Par estimates -30% SUN hold.

As an early preview for the BOT crew here, the early Sunday numbers are indicating that $30m is pretty safe for today.  Let's see where the day takes us, but that would make for around a $91m weekend.
