The End of Summer: Dragon Ball Super Super Hero/Beast Weekend Thread | DBS 20.1, Beast 11.6, BT 8, Pets 5.8 | TGM 5.85. Passes Infinity War to become sixth-biggest domestic earner

Recommended Posts

Sorry guys, I have no preview numbers but all reports are "Dragon Ball Super Super Hero" is looking for the number one spot this weekend. It's coming off the 2018 Blockbuster success of "Dragon Ball Super: Broly".  It's already Critically Acclaimed with a 96% on RT.   Idris Elba's "Beast" (Not to be confused with his other film that takes place in Africa "Beast of no Nation") is hoping to scare up some dollars too.  It's almost three months later, will "Top Gun: Maverick" ever leave the Top 10? (It's actually #2 right now)  "Minions" to pass 800 Million WW this weekend as well.   Universal has also crossed 3 Billion at the Worldwide Box Office with Jurassic and Minions success.   "Bullet Train" is also already at 120 WW.

On this same weekend last year, Free Guy posted 12.9x (with great WOM), and even Don't Breathe 2 had an 11x, $10.6M off a $965K Thursday. Kinda thinking Beast emulates the latter, almost exactly, with Thursday sales doubling from last check to final and pushing up close to $1M for a (barely) double digit OW

Not sure how the studios usually tally weekends for anime. Is this 4M preview going to count towards the FSS weekend, or is Thursday a separate number?

Sony/Funimation counted it in the Friday for Demon Slayer so they should be doing the same here.
