WB is looking like a genius for moving Dune to March now, even though I think it would have done well in November anyways without actors promo.

I said the same thing a week or so ago. It still sucks, but pretty good chance March is gonna open up even more and 2024 is gonna be a weak slate in general in terms of Oscar competition (at least for technical awards). Probably will helps its chances with big ticket awards, too.

Basically anything that was not at least finished with principal photography is delayed for sure.

Ridley Scott shoots two movies a year regularly and reshot a whole ass movie in three weeks lol. If anyone is gonna get their unfinished film out next year it's him.

Gladiator 2 is still set for a release date more than a year away and is at least half-finished (according to those close to the production) so it's not in any danger of moving like the spring/summer movies are, however:

The much-anticipated Gladiator 2 production was abruptly halted during the enactment of a complex Colosseum battle scene. The unexpected pause in the filming of Ridley Scott‘s epic resulted from the recent strike by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

Scott had been leading the cast and crew through a meticulously choreographed sequence inside a replica of the Colosseum. Leading actor Paul Mescal and several hundred extras were immersed in the scene when filming was abruptly stopped at noon on Thursday, July 13th, as actors officially took to striking.

Just putting it out there right now that I'm not going to hear it when every movie for the next two years is a financial flop as production costs due to extended shutdowns are going to cause budgets to balloon on everything.

Don't worry, it'll only happen for Disney-owned studios.

Hey guys I was wondering about something is it common for a show to have two showrunners and then the following season one of the showrunners leaves usually the more seasoned one because the network hired the seasoned showrunner to allow the younger showrunner to shadow him and help him understand how to run a show before giving him the responsibility solo in the second season.

The seasoned showrunner is credited as executive producer for the entirety of the shows run but is no longer gonna be physically involved. Is that common?
