Yeah it's been looking pretty impressive for a bit. Sony might've underestimated demand making it a one screening only thing.

That Alien rerelease in two weeks looks to be selling pretty well too

I imagine Sony will add additional days if this ends up really successful. FWIW sales for the other two Maguire movies the next two weeks are also looking pretty strong as well (3 being impressive considering it's admittedly always been less beloved than the first two). They might as well had made these full-blown releases instead of one day things, or at least given one full week to each.

Also I notice a bunch of theaters tomorrow will be showing Interview with the Vampire (not entirely random given this year is its 30th anniversary). Kirsten Dunst at all stages of her life across movie screens this week lol go her.

I do suspect the Garfield movies won't have nearly as much demand, lol

Those have actually sold a fairly decent amount of seats so far too and they're three/four weeks away. The generation that's been growing up on the Holland films in theaters that weren't around (or were barely alive) when the Maguire movies were originally released were probably also too young to see the Garfield movies on the big screen when they were brand new movies as well (the second will be a decade old in a few weeks).

Don't know if anyone else has been tracking it but Spider-Man '02 tonight is selling like crazy from what I'm seeing, to the point where theaters have been adding additional shows. Hopefully Sony reports the numbers for these re-releases because it should hit at least $1M today.

I've been keeping an eye on showtimes.  It's currently sitting at ~930 shows for today.  I hadn't really looked at tracking it since comps would be weird for something like this.  Here's where things stand in my regions.

Movie Day Area TC Shows New Sold Seats % Sold
Spider-Man 2002 (Re) T-0 Jax 1 3 177 177 257 68.87%
    Phx 1 1 31 31 49 63.27%
    Ral 1 4 137 137 200 68.50%
  Total   3 8 345 345 506 68.18%

Comp Buckets

All CBM movies - 1.01m

All action movies - 1.36m

All PG-13 movies - 1.41m

All EA shows - 1.1m

All movies - 1.52m

All said, I think 1m - 1.25m would be a good target

They already have.
Looking at AMC’s in NY, it has showings listed Mon-Thu this week at most the major theatres there.

Ungentlemanly Warfare, counted today for Thursday had 129 sold tickets (in 6 theaters, the small AMC in Texas is missing).

Comps: Operation Fortune (220k from previews) had on Wednesday for Thursday = 2 days left for TMoUW to increase the margin) 96 sold tickets.

1917 (3.25M) finally (= on Thursday for Thursday, 3 days left for TMoUW to come closer) had 879 sold tickets.

Midway (925k) also finally had 300 sold tickets for Thursday. I doubt that TMoUW will reach that number but it should have over 200 sold tickets which would mean ca. ~ 600-700k from previews.

And Amsterdam (550k) had on Monday of the release week for Thursday 184 sold tickets = 400k.

Very rough average: 500k+ (as always without EA).

This was a very strong start locally, obviously carried by the EA but a good sign of local interest. I will have better comps at T-11.

These numbers are from yesterday, I was just too lazy to post them. When you separate the EA and the Thursday numbers... not a pretty picture. Really hoping this picks up from here

Still feel this will be a late presale/walkup movie.  Hopefully. It does not seem like the type of movie that people need to get tickets for early.
