Looks like National Cinema Day is no longer happening?

 

I guess IO2 and D&W made theaters so much money this summer, theaters feel like don't have to deal with all the craziness of NCD anymore.

It'll probably come back at some point, but during another slow season. Still think it would be a good boost for theaters in January or February when there typically isn't much out (January would be more likely this year since February has Captain America).

Could somebody explain please, does it mean that if Beetlejuice performs exactly in line with Indy 5 based on the pre-sales, it would make 16.8M in previews and 43m on the pure Friday? Or 43m combined for Friday + all previous showings?

Early Shows probably around 2,5M , Previews around 11-12M for me at this point so around 13,5-14M if I take the average of Dune and Godzilla . For the True Friday, i think 30-32M at this point if reviews and WOM are good . I think 105-115M OW . It's the biggest movie since D&W and with Joker 2 the biggest movie between the end of July and mid November. The communication around Jenna Ortega is on fire the last few days with the objective to attract younger people and Latino demo and we know if the demo come to theaters , the movie , in general overperform.
