Some thing to watch for this week is to see if sales pick up. The Leafs lost last night and are out of the playoffs. With the Blue Jays being bad, there's not much of a sports alternative. It should result in more ticket demand, but we'll see.

The biggest problem facing Twisters is the fact they are releasing the week before D &W. So even if it breaks out in week 1 it will get killed in week 2.Losing all the PLF's and everything. Universal is making the same mistake Paramount did last year with DR Part 1.

It's unlikely they're banking on the stars being the selling point for Twisters. Not even Powell tbh. The tornados and the association with a nearly 30 year old blockbuster, despite the lack of any cast members that would link the two movies, are meant to be the draw.

There was tons of terrible, terrible tornadoes in the 90s that were huge national news stories and HELPED Twister breakout. There's alot of reasons it may not be a huge hit but "people are too sensitive about tornadoes nowadays" feels like a stretch.

The total sales are low.  Gxk started going crazy on T-3 839 sold and 1196 sold T-2.

I was just looking at on the Numbers website and Dawn of The Planet of the Apes did 4.1 in previews and 72 for the weekend. That's a weekend IM of 18 so def not frontloaded. Now that was 2014 and pre COVID obv but yeah even if the previews don't crack 5m  50 million at least is doable for the weekend for sure.
