I think people were speculating Lilo and Stitch for September. That date is still listed as UNTITLED DISNEY MOVIE though.
MysteryMovieMogul
3 minutes ago, ZeroHour said: I think Disney+ is always going to be a drag on their films to one extent or another. It’s too big of a streamer not to be. But sequels are pretty much the only animated films (excluding niche titles) that have been working at the box office. Inside Out 2 will be an early indicator here of how big of a problem D+ will be on these sequels. Migration proved this. Yes, it made its budget back, but it had far less eyes on it than Elemental, which itself had far less eyes on it than The Super Mario Bros. Movie. No, people are expecting that to be 9/6. 11/27 was thought to be 2ootopia.
BK007
Reworking a DTV series to a film doesn't seem like a good idea. They probably only did it after Wish tanked too, so they have less than a year. Iger is stealing a living.
YM!
I’m curious on the timeline for this and who’s writing. Think so long as it has Frozen2/Ralph 2 reception of it’s a step down but still a solid ride vibe from critics and GA, it should match the original if not slightly overtake it. However, this seems like a last minute thing due to Wish flopping, as if it’s true it was Moana 2 for that spot, they’d have announced it last year. Liiviig 1998
Is this gonna healthy money ? Yes. But just not sure about pivoting it from tv version to movie is a good idea. Just wricks of desperacy. Anyone good to get back to eventful thanksgiving weekends. The last few have been quite dreadful. 2025-2ootopia? 2026- frozen 3?
filmlover
Re: the live-action remake, there's been no additional news ever since they announced the director last year, so it's probably put on hold for now and will lose the June 2025 date soon, especially when that spot is surrounded by tentpoles either already filming or are about to start. Yeah we getting alot more sequels for now . Original WDAs are gonna be put on the back burner for now. Expect a similar result for Pixar too, though not going as hard as WDAs ,some originals will be sprinkled in.

Ralph 2 and Frozen 2 were such terrible movies. Strange World was better than both and that bombed. Will see Wish whenever it comes out on Disney+. Sad! It’s sad. The only original animated films from the major animation studios (Illumination, Dreamworks, Pixar, WDAS, Sony Animation, etc) are just Wild Robot this year and Elio next year. Other than that it’s just sequels as far as the eye can see. But audiences have spoken and don’t want to see original animation in theaters anymore I guess.
