People enjoyed the film. Did I EVER say otherwise? No, so shut the fuck up. It's gonna shatter records, and I'm not going to care one single bit because it was a decent and entertaining film for the most part, but nothing more. I'm not throwing a tantrum. Star Wars, Raiders, Empire Strikes Back, E.T., Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Terminator 2, Die Hard, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, Batman '89, Jurassic Park, and The Matrix would all like a word with you.

Star Wars, Raiders, Empire Strikes Back, E.T., Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Terminator 2, Die Hard, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, Batman '89, Jurassic Park, and The Matrix would all like a word with you.

All those still had some flaws for me (ET may as well be horse dung in my book). TA does absolutely nothing that it doesn't ace in spades. It's summer blockbuster perfection. I've seen it 4 times in 48 hours and I'm looking for the cracks. They're simply not there. Not to mention repeat value for this thing is just insane. I don't know how I can possibly want to see it again already, but I do.

Glad you love it so much. I found it very entertaining, but I'd still put it below all those films I listed (and others as well). It's just hyperbole to say it's the first film in 40 years to get the summer blockbuster right. Not only are there countless other examples, TA is highly influenced by them as well (as I'm sure Whedon would be quick to point out).
