After I double check Toho website and see Saturday schedule, I realize what they mean by stop screening. Here stop screening refers to the English version in thosetheaters and will be replaced by 3D dubbed and singalong. Good news, I believe.

 

Ah, so I guess it's just one of the versions of Frozen. But they're replacing it with other version. Yeah, that's great news actually.

There usually isn't a pre-GW effect in play is there? Is Frozen increasing this week solely on its own volition? These numbers are great.

Yeah apparently frozen is getting a lot of media coverage right now for passing the 10 billion yen mark.

I was about to say "wtf frozen didn't beat conan?" then realised you said just english alone whew!

Movie managers should just give frozen the most seats this weekend and watch the money roll in easiest money ever. 

 

When can we expect weekend seats numbers?

It looks like we have a Frozen "snowball effect" vs. Conan. They were pretty much even for the weekend but for weekdays Frozen seems to be beating Conan by more every day, and even improving over last weeks weekdays.

I think Frozen wins this weekend easily by either staying flat again, or even increasing, while Conan has a drop. I can't see any of the openers pulling an upset.

Neat... if they really pull many seats from frozen then there might be quite a few sellouts... that should help push the ticket price up since people will have to settle for 3D if 2D is sold out

Looking at past years, Conan movies typically drop around 35-40% in the 2nd weekend and increase around 7-8% during the Golden Week weekend. Based on last weekend's numbers, that puts Conan's second weekend between 473.599.380 yen and 513.065.995 yen. Given how big the OW was, I'm going to go with the 40% drop. In recent days, Frozen has been doing around twice as much as Conan in admissions so perhaps a 900-950 million yen weekend isn't out of reach ?
