Thanks @RJ 95 I was looking at 2 day weekend numbers. I am sure we can get it from this thread as corpse posted them.

First Frozen 1 (2 day) weekend number you mean ?

From 142th page of this Japan OS thread :

Frozen captures the top spot at the box-office this weekend, taking in a mighty ¥763,389,450 ($7.5 million) with 602,347 admissions on 598 screens. And its 3-day total reached ¥986 million ($9.7 million) with a boosted (Toho Cinemas discount day) Friday opening.

P.S : for anyone who has time and maybe wants to experience Frozen 1 magic and craziness just read on page 137-350 of this thread

I was here then. I was at KJ as well. Corpse's estimates of where it will end up went up week after week.

Yup i remembered back then comparison start from Tangled to Monster University to TS3 and Finding Nemo to Avatar to Howl's Moving Castle and finally last boss Spirited Away. For me Golden Week was the most enjoyable moment of OS box office tracking, I mean what movie in its 8th weekend on OS market can gross $11m. Also that disappointment when DVD/Bluray release haha

I think this weekend also will be Frozen 2 last weekend to stay on top of Frozen 1 weekend. It's weekdays gap also will only get bigger each week with Frozen 1 basically won't drop until after golden week. Winter school holidays should help Frozen 2 in late legs.

F1 weekdays did drop after 2nd week even though the weekends held flat.

You mean after 3rd week right

This is from Mojo numbers because im too lazy to read confirmed number on this thread on early page.

Frozen 1

Weekend 1   7.5m + 2.2 Friday

Weekdays 1 11.3m, Weekend 2 8.5m

Weekdays 2 11.5m, Weekend 3 8.5m

Weekdays 3 15.3m, Weekend 4 8.2m

Weekdays 4 7.4m

In its 4th weekdays its first time it dropped but must be because spring break already ends at that week.

I keep readinh on here how the video release cut Frozen´s legs in Japan

Out of curiosity, how much more could it have grossed if Disney had pushed back Frozen´s home video release in Japan?

According to Corpse, non-opening Fridays are one of the weakest weekdays. Usually under Wednesday and Monday.

I think with Frozen 2 is a more weekend movie, Friday can get closer than usual to Monday than other movies normally.

Wed > Mon > Fri > Tue > Thu

I keep readinh on here how the video release cut Frozen´s legs in Japan

Out of curiosity, how much more could it have grossed if Disney had pushed back Frozen´s home video release in Japan?

It was on its way to challenge Spirited Away. It at least could have beaten Titanic. But we will never know.

Some thought it made no difference. Myself and others thought it did cut the legs.

the 12th weekend nearly matched the first after up and down fluctuations from 2-10%.  then the DVD announcement happened and we saw a 22% drop followed by 33%.  No way it holds flat then those drops.  If demand burn started to  kick in at weekend 13 and we would have seen steady 10% drops for a few weeks, I thought $300m was in the bag.  Look at SA,  the weekends continued to hold tight for many more weeks.  If it ran out like SA did for months on end I thought $400m was a possibility.

@edroger3, I already know your reply.
