She was a pretty random choice. I remember when her name was first attached to sing a song, a lot people figured that Horner and Cameron were trying to replicate the success of MHWGON, which obviously didn't happen.

Got to imagine at least double that number were killed in this one.

I am still in awe of whatever the hell Vincent D'Onofrio was doing there. It was sublime.

 

Also, is it just me or they actually gave quite the personality to the mandatory no-background-story-at-all Asian in this movie? I quite liked the dude.

 

On this same note, Haley Bennett ! They actually gave her quite the personality too, she was not just another damsel in distress or a full-on bad-ass, she was actually something in the middle and more realistic for it. That may not sound very worthy of praise but believe me, they tend to screw up those female characters in action movies so much, it's actually real nice when thy get them right.
