That is called a brain fart but what about the other 3 guys tho, anybody knows anything about them ?

:sherlock:

Byung-hun Lee is a well known Korean actor. But his notable US film appearances are essentially limited to the GI Joe series and Terminator Genisys.

The Mexican outlaw and the Native American character are played by essentially unknowns.

I wish they had made Matt Bomer one of the seven instead of neglecting him to Bennett's quickly dispatched husband. He's got a ton of charisma. But I guess that's what happens when you're an out and married gay actor.

Honestly, I doubt it was because he was gay. But who knows.

Fun story: When The Nice Guys came out, my mom and I were watching Stephen Colbert interview Bomer about his role in the movie. Throughout 90% of the interview, it was pretty much him talking about Magic Mike and what it was like working with Channing Tatum. A few hours later, my mom, my dad, and I watched Magic Mike on HBO, solely to see Matt Bomer's role and throughout the movie we were looking for him, until we noticed him in the background about 50 minutes into the movie. Now, he's a funny little inside joke between me and my mom. :P

Antoine Fuqua: Hey Pizza

The Pizzaman: Yes?

Fuqua: Here's the deal. I want you to, on the whole, co-write this movie relatively normal. Can you do that for me?

The Pizzaman: Do I have to?

Fuqua: Yes, you do. But, you do this solid for me, and I promise, you get to write Ethan Hawke, Vinny D, and Sarsgaard like they're characters in a True Detective prequel. Deal?

The Pizzaman: Deal

Just got back from the movie, had a great time, sure it had it's flaws, but overall I thought it was a really solid film, with an old fashioned flair to it and a really great score.

Not a ton of people at my screening though.

It's good and entertaining, but aside from larger scale action and some nifty ways of dispatching some enemies it doesn't really bring anything to the table that the original (or Seven Samurai) didn't.

Denzel is Denzel. Pratt is somewhere between his JW character and Star Lord. The Mexican and Comanche characters are pretty much window dressing. Ethan Hawke is really the only character who has an actual (if abbreviated) character arc. Byung-hun Lee is for the most part silent and deadly, but he has some banter/repartee with Hawke's character. Vinny D is a crazy ball of hair spouting nonsensical quips with the voice of a kid just breaking into puberty.

Haley Bennett's role is actually not thankless at all, she has a few strong moments. Sarsgaard's villain gets some monologue goodness in a couple scenes but we could have used some of his presence in the middle/final act instead of just sitting on a horse glaring into the distance.
