Gopher
I'm loving watching Ted and Magic Mike make so much money. Original R-rated blockbusters are few and far between... we got two in one weekend.
Bitcher
Yeah but R rated comedies have already more than proven their worth as far as boxoffice is concerned. (I mean, in 2011 we had one breakout after another in that genre) Personally I'd rather see other genres soar so high with an adult rating for a change but this is still a rare sight. And yeah, Prometheus got sodomized by Spidey and subsequent theater loss, though it's far from its only victim. Anyone remembers how Baumer claimed RoA had a shot at over 4x multiplier? :LOL Edited July 4, 2012 by Bitcher

Moviedweeb
Moonrise Kingdom had a GREAT Tuesday! 23% up, according to estimates.Prometheus (24% down) - less impressive. Both Prometheus and MIB3 lost tons of theaters. Considering how bad That's My Boy performed, I would have thought that this would be a good opportunity to give MIB3 some more theaters since both are made by Sony. Cedarpoint1111
I hope TA stays flat or decreases. I need it to stay below 900k this week!
Jlundegaard
Simply anectdotal evidence, but Avengers finally got kicked out of several theaters in my area yesterday with Spider Man's debut, so I am guessing its national count will take a significant hit as well. Also wondering if Brave might be able to overtake Ted by next weekend. I am not sure Ted's legs will hold as well as most people here seem to think.
