If that Looper number holds it means it had a better opening than the last Resident Evil movie. That gives me some hope for the state of movies today.

Perks must be skewing older than Pitch Perfect by a considerable margin. Both had very very good PTAs this weekend.

Is Gitesh lying?@giteshpandya: #Looper rep says it is "killing it" in China this wknd. Heading to about $24M opening there beating US debut.

Rep either means 24m yuan for 3-day or $24m for 10-day extended holiday period.

At the very end, September pulled a great weekend, ending up over 70m admissions and narrowly avoided "beating" 2008 to the worst September in however many years.

Great news! The past 4 weeks were so depressing on a box office geek standpoint lol. This was a BIG win! 2 great openers, solid holds for 2nd week movies (save poor Dredd) + 1 sizzling limited release Edited by forg

Some great stuff this weekend.Hotel Transylvania 40m +Looper over 20mLast weeks openers 40% under avg dropPitch Perfect 15k per screenPerks 11k per screenTDKR after 11 weeks is still pulling over $1200 per screen.Incredible for the last weekend of September.

Definitely a great box office weekend all around. HT has the biggest opening weekend and single day of September. TDKR grossed more than EXP2 and TBL this weekend.Could HT OW be good news for next weekend?
